Yona Kanyomozi Death Reason
Yona served as the minister and member of the parliament as well before he took off from his work and retired completely. Apart from being a minister, Yona was also a member of the parliament at the national and regional levels, an activist, and also a technocrat as well. He worked for rights and for providing basic necessities to many lower class people and also food for the poor. A member of his family revealed that he was getting treated for a long time now. The sources also revealed that he was undergoing treatment for cancer-related illness amid which he passed away this Sunday at the hospital itself.
Who Was Yona Kanyomozi?
Back in 1980, Yona served as the Minister of Cooperatives and Marketing Bushenyi South member of parliament which was during the Obote 2 regime. He also served as the Kajara Council representative from 1989 until 1996. Apart from being a great politician, Yona was an economic advisor as well who worked for Uganda Electricity Board back from 1966 to 1970. He served as the Director of Industrial Developments centre Uganda from 1970 to 1072. After that, he also served as the East African External Telecommunications general manager from 1972 to 1977. He also dreamed about rebuilding his own party which was not initiated.

He was born in Kajara, Ankole, Kanyomozi and had his early education at Ntare School. He graduated from the London School of Economics back in 1966 with a major in Bachelor of Science Economics. He later studied Master of Science in administrative science from Graduate business centre, London back in 1969. He was a man who was always concerned about people’s wellbeing and in an interview he said that eh always wanted to be remembered as a person who was concerned for common man.
