Who Was Zalo Reyes?
Zalo was born on the 3rd of November 1952, in Conchal, Chile. Apart from being known as Zalo, he was also known by his other name Gorrion De Conchal as he was born there. Zalo initiated his career back in the 1970s and he became famous with his first hit which was called Una Lagrima Y un Recuerdo which was released back in1 979. This song was recorded with a group called Espiral. After participating in several programs and spreading his music all over the states, Zalo got the recognition that he aimed to get ten years later after his debut in 1980. Zalo participated in a show called Sabado Gigante which helped him gain much reputation and fame as well.

Zalo before initiating his career in the music field was a navy officer and he was nicknamed Gonzalito, which evolved from Zalito and then finally to Zalo. Zalo revealed that he wanted a more modernized and American cultured name so he often changed his name, but stelled down to Zalo nickname. He went through difficulties in his early stages of life, and he was the youngest of the four children that his parents shared. Is mother’s profession is unknown but his father was an atxi driver. Zalo passed away at the age of 69 and he was with his family at the time of his death. It was revealed by his family members that he passed away as a result of complications from diabetes.

Con Una Lagrima En La Garganta was the song that helped him gain much reputation and he even participated in the Vina Del Mar which was an international Song festival held in 1983 that helped him gain much stardom. Some of the major songs that reached a hit list from Zalo were Ramito De Violetas, Acorralando Entre Mis Lagrimas, Maria Teres y Danilo, And My Prisonera. He received an honour called Capihue de Oro for his contributions to the music industry back in 2013. Zalo spent about 50 years of his life learning and producing music and he had a musical life. He won the Monterey Mother Center music festival as well in 1967.
